Born in Moscow, Masha Schmidt studied at the Stroganov Academy before continuing her education at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and then at the Sorbonne’s Faculty of Fine Arts. A multidisciplinary artist, she has developed a practice centered on drawing, installation, and wall-mounted works, which are regularly exhibited in France and internationally.
Drawing inspiration from the observation of natural phenomena, her work treats series and variation as fundamental principles of composition. Each installation invites the viewer’s gaze to move between the detail and the whole, in a constant dialogue between rhythm, space, and perception.
